Let's see...
I'm a COMPOSER/PERCUSSIONIST based in Jersey City, NJ. I studied musical theater writing at The Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program at NYU Tisch (Cycle 24).
My original works include a children's musical, Bomba and the Coquí which features Puerto Rican folkloric music and dance (performances at El Museo del Barrio in Harlem), Salvador written with collaborator Lane Dombois, which features the Afro-Brazilian martial art of capoeira (which I practiced for over 10 years!) with performances at NYU New Theater and NYU 111 Second Avenue, and my current project Submersible, also in the works with Lane Dombois.
I also studied Classical Performance (Percussion) at NJCU with the late Randall Hicks (timpanist for the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra) and Latin Percussion with Rolando Morales-Matos (The Lion King, The Ron Carter Quartet). I loved playing in the pit for musicals! Some shows I've played include Kiss Me Kate, High School Musical, Into The Woods, City of Angels, and more. I also played latin percussion for performances with university guest artists Eddie Palmieri, Arturo O'Farril, Maria Schneider, Pete McGuiness, Jon Faddis, and more. Good times!
